One Already!

Anderson had his first birthday party today. I cannot believe that he is already 1! For his party, we had a few friends and family over, but by the pile of gifts he had it looked like we invited the whole neighborhood. He is definitely loved and spoiled.

Anderson still doesn't understand how to open the gifts, but once they were opened he had a blast playing with all the wrapping, boxes, and presents. Luckily for Anderson, his friends Caden and Jordan were there to help him open the presents. They too seemed to enjoy themselves.
Since Josh had to work today, we decided to have the party during Anderson's normal nap time so that Josh could be there. We were hoping that this wouldn't create a cranky Anderson. He did a great job until it was time for cake. But of course, for scrapbooking purposes, I needed the first cake eating pictures. So we quickly sang to him and had him eat cake.

At first, he didn't know what to do with the cake. He looked at it for a moment. Then, he took a large handful and stuffed his face. He enjoyed the cake, allowed for a few pictures, and then crashed for a long nap. What a day!

Thank you to all of you whole came and shared his big day with him. We all greatly appreciate the company and gifts.

For the dog, the cats, and now...

Today as I was making dinner, I heard a grunt. I looked over at Anderson and he had himself halfway through the dog door. He couldn't figure out how to get the last half of himself out, so he kept grunting and squirming as he tried to maneuver himself through. It was a funny sight to see. I guess the animal's food isn't as safe from Anderson as we thought it was.
